WDP-WS4 - HFE Awareness in NZ Industry Questionnaire

Want to help shape the future of Human Factors/Ergonomics (HFE) in NZ?

We are reaching out to industry members to give them a voice on how HFE (Human Factors/Ergonomics) can best support them.

A questionnaire survey was undertaken at the end of 2021, which is part of a larger project funded by WorkSafe and Health and Safety Association of NZ (HASANZ) through the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of New Zealand (HFESNZ). The aim of this project is to further develop the capacity of the Human Factors/Ergonomics profession in New Zealand, to support the improvement of safety, performance and well-being in New Zealand.

We undertook a questionnaire survey across a broad range of NZ industries to identify where the gaps and needs in HFE are. This has helped us to understand where HFE is currently being undertaken, and what is understood by HFE, which is currently guiding the development of HFE resources for NZ industry.

Thank-you to those who took part in the survey. Below you will find a link to the report. The next steps of the project are to identify the key HFE needs for industry based on these results, and identify the best ways to present the information to NZ industries.

If you would like to get involved in the project or would like more information about it, please contact Rachael Gordon via the HFESNZ admin@hfesnz.org.nz
